Tabs made to order

Looking for a particular song for which you can't find a dulcimer tab?  I offer a transcription service whereby I will arrange your favorite song for mountain dulcimer.  The first step in the process would be for me to determine whether the song can be played on the dulcimer, given the instrument's limitations, whether it requires extra frets, a capo or unique tuning.  Then, you provide me with the printed music or a recording of the song you wish to have tabbed and let me do the rest!

The service is based on $35.00 per hour. Most basic arrangements can be completed in a one hour time frame. You are expected to provide a recording or standard musical notation of the song for me to use as a reference.  If that is not possible, I will locate the song on your behalf and an additional charge will be added.

What You Get:

  • Typeset tablature in DAD tuning  (unless another tuning preference is specified or necessary)
  • Guitar accompaniment chords
  • Tempo indications, measure numbers, repeats, etc.
  • MIDI File  (for the purpose of hearing how the song will sound)

Complete song lyrics
Standard musical notation
Additional parts for ensemble players
Demo recording of the song

How The Product Is Delivered

The finished tab and MIDI file will come to you as separate e-mail attachments after payment has been received. An additional charge of $4.00 will be added to orders mailed via the U.S. Postal Service.

I retain the copyright on all arrangements that I create. However, you are free to perform the arrangement anywhere you choose.  Additional copies of the arrangement must be purchased separately at a cost of $4.95 each.  Photocopying is strictly prohibited and considered a violation of Federal Copyright Laws, whether it be for resale, to share with friends, or to use as instructional materials.

How Do I Get Started?

The first step should be to contact me and discuss the arrangement in detail, in order to determine the specifics of the project.  I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have and to quote you a firm price for the work I will do.
